Recently, the first water floating photovoltaic power station of Chinalco Group, constructed by Guangxi Huasheng, was successfully connected to the grid and put into operation, setting a new benchmark for the green transformation of the industry.

The project adopts NET's [NAS]® water floating system. Without altering the landform, it makes full use of about 41,000 square meters of water area in the red mud stockpile recovery pond to develop and build a water floating photovoltaic power station with a total installed capacity of 4.35 MW.

Floating PV features low cost, safe and reliable floating structure, excellent anti-corrosion performance, and is non-toxic and harmless with no impact on land and water quality.Adopting the model of “mainly for self-use, surplus power to the grid”, the power station is connected to the power grid at a voltage level of 10 kV.It can supply 4.8 million kWh of green electricity annually to the red mud filter press workshop, supplementing its production power demand, realizing efficient resource utilization and setting a model for water surface resource utilization.

Over its full life cycle, the power station is expected to generate 120 million kWh of electricity, save 48,000 tons of standard coal, and reduce carbon dioxide emissions by approximately 120,000 tons.The accumulated ecological benefit is equivalent to the carbon sequestration capacity of an additional 268 hectares of forest.
